Every boss in Resident Evil Requiem ranked from hardest to easiest based on damage output, attack patterns, parry difficulty, and Insanity-mode performance. Use this ranking to know what's coming and how to prepare.
// DIFFICULTY RANKING (1-10 scale)
How this ranking works
Each boss is scored on five factors:
- Damage output — how hard their hits land
- Attack pattern complexity — how many moves they have, how readable
- Parry difficulty — how tight the parry windows are
- Resource demand — how much ammo/healing the fight consumes
- Insanity scaling — how punishing they become on the hardest difficulty
The list goes from hardest (#1) to easiest (#8). Order matters: knowing what's coming lets you save resources for the right fights.
S Tier — Brutal fights
★★★★★
The hardest fight in Resident Evil Requiem. Two-phase Nemesis-clone with electric attacks, RPG-7, tentacle sweeps, and a 10-second purple charge window. Mortal Edge Hatchet is mandatory. Don't waste ammo before this fight.
CANON ENDING
2-PHASE
LEON
★★★★★
Knife-fights like Krauser from RE4. Fast attacks with readable tells. The most skill-intensive fight in the game. Reward: Mortal Edge Hatchet — required for Victor.
PARRY-FOCUSED
LEON
★★★★★
Iconic boss with thrown cars and leap attacks. Aim for the heart — body shots do almost no damage. Two-phase with chase sequence first.
CHASE+FIGHT
LEON
HEART WEAKPOINT
A Tier — Challenging fights
★★★★★
Massive spinning bioweapon. Cannot parry its spin attacks — you must use cover. Burst damage triggers temporary stun windows. Save Requiem rounds for stuns.
COVER-BASED
LEON
★★★★★
Three-headed plant monstrosity. Shoot side buds first, then central flower when its maw opens. Finisher: shoot explosive canisters from the dislodged truck for an instant cinematic kill.
CINEMATIC FINISHER
LEON
B Tier — Manageable fights
★★★★★
Second Chunk encounter. Pick up the MSBG 500 Shotgun immediately at fight start — it's beside the corpse. Use yellow ladders to force pathing.
SHOTGUN PICKUP
LEON
★★★★★
Optional but recommended. Slow mutant that snags on doorframes. 3× Hemolytic Injector from behind = instant kill. Drops Eye Spy Charm.
OPTIONAL
GRACE
CHARM REWARD
★★★★★
Easiest "boss" in the game. Optional encounter — drops Pantry Key for free supplies. One Hemolytic Injector instant-kills him. Easy to skip if speedrunning.
OPTIONAL
GRACE/LEON
Boss order in the campaign
For story planning, here's the order you'll fight bosses:
- The Chef (Care Center Kitchen) — optional, very early
- Chunk #1 (East Wing) — optional, recommended for Eye Spy Charm
- Chunk #2 (Care Center Attic) — mandatory mid-game
- Mr. X / Super Tyrant (Outside RPD) — mandatory, post-Care Center
- Titan Spinner (Raccoon City Plaza) — mandatory mid-Raccoon City
- Plant 43 (ARK Entrance) — mandatory, early ARK
- The Commander (ARK Corridors) — mandatory, mid ARK
- Victor Gideon (ARK Final Chamber) — final boss
Pre-fight prep checklist
Universal pre-boss preparation:
- Save manually before the fight (use a fresh slot)
- Repair body armor at the nearest Supply Box
- Stock 2+ First Aid Sprays
- Reload all weapons before triggering the cutscene
- Equip the strongest melee weapon (Mortal Edge Hatchet ideally)
- Consider equipping Eye Spy Charm (random fatal damage save) for Insanity
