The Clatter Carbine is the only assault rifle in RE9 — a crowd-control powerhouse. 60-round magazine, full-auto fire rate, 150 damage per shot. Becomes an Insanity-tier weapon when fully upgraded. Essential for Plant 43 swarm phases and Chunk arm-breaking.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Base damage | 150 per shot |
| Fire rate | 650 RPM (full-auto) |
| Magazine size | 60 → 90 (T3) |
| Reload speed | 3.2s → 2.4s (T3) |
| DPS at T3 | ~1,625 dmg/sec sustained |
| Unlock location | Raccoon City RPD (Chapter 6) |
| T1 → T3 upgrade cost | 6,000 + 4,000 + 6,000 = 16,000 currency |
| Best use case | Plant 43 roots, Chunk arms, Titan Spinner Phase 4 |
Found in RPD evidence locker (Chapter 6) — requires RPD Master Key. Easy miss for first-time players.
T2 ASAP (4,000 currency) before Plant 43. T3 (6,000) before final boss. Magazine size is the upgrade priority.
Crafter’s Touch (sustained ammo) + Iron Skin (close-range survival) + Magnetic Hand (shell pickup). Avoid Marksman’s Eye — AR isn’t headshot-focused.
Plant 43 (full-auto on root clusters), Chunk Phase 2 (arm breaking), Titan Spinner Phase 4 Insanity (vertical evasion + sustained fire). Avoid Mr. X — shotgun is better.
Holds up well on Insanity NG+. 60-round mag means sustained pressure without reload windows. Pair with Crafter’s Touch for crowd control.
Clatter Carbine wins for crowd control and sustained DPS. Requiem Revolver wins for single-target burst. Carry both.
